Hi, I’m Chris White!

I spent a little more than three years serving as the Music Director at CJAM 99.1 FM — the campus/community radio station in Windsor, Ontario. My time with the organization also included four previous years of volunteering as on-air DJ.

I Am Collecting Beautiful Things was a music variety radio program with the goal of playing as many different bands as possible without any repeat artists. In the past I also hosted programs with more precise focus on the math rock and hip-hop genres.

Also within the realm of the Canadian music industry, I am the Charts Editor for !earshot, which is the organization that tracks Canadian campus radio charts. Additionally, I have served three years as a jury member for the Polaris Music Prize.

Fortunately Everything Dies is the name used for my recorded music projects. I acquire sounds from various sources and manipulate them until they please my ears. Tim Hecker and the soundtrack work of John Carpenter are the main influences. To date, my discography looks like this:
+ Fortunately Everything Dies EP  (February 2009)
+ Censored  (July 2009)
+ I Do Believe I’m Going To Strangle Someone… By Accident  (November 2009)
+ Horror  (July 2010)

Press Quotes:
“The music wavers between ambient drones and glitchy experimental electronics, most of it being really good.” — Weird Canada

“There’s really nothing here you want to hear more than once.” — ChartAttack
